Raw Vegan Detox Cleanse: One A Day

Raw Vegan Detox Cleanse: One a Day is to help you get started if you too, want to go raw vegan or for those who just want to detox and feng shui their bodies.  Believe me, there is such a thing!

Last night, I went a little crazy and ate and drank a bunch of crap that I normally wouldn't touch.  Sometimes, right before a detox, I feel a need to squirrel away food in my belly.  I ate a few things that had wheat that I'm going to have to detox out, as well as drank a half gallon of orange juice.

For the most part, I was binge eating.  There's always this little fear in the back of my mind that I need to address when I start a new diet lifestyle or in preparation of a detox.

I get this fear that I'll never get to eat that food again, thus, I take advantage at the moment.  For the record, I never feel very good about myself afterward.

I actually made the decision to start my detox today, as a last minute decision.  I have been eating things lately that normally I wouldn't eat.  Pasta and breads were one of them.

This past year, I had almost completely obliterated wheat from my diet, as it sometimes has explosive consequences.  It usually tears my gut up and I spend the next day or two writhing in pain.  Lately though, I haven't had that so I got a little cocky.

Getting Started on a Raw Vegan Diet Cleanse

Getting started on a raw vegan detox cleanse is easy when you know what to do.  I always recommend that you do a little preparation first.  This usually involves a little grocery shopping and possibly letting your family and friends know ahead of time.

It's not that you're obligated to tell them but it helps them be aware not to offer you things that will negatively impact your raw vegan detox cleanse.  Things like cookies, salty chips, and bread, as well as pasta, if you usually eat them.

To help you out, here is what I have in my fridge and cupboards for my detox cleanse:
  • Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (detoxes the liver naturally.)  It will detox medications, alcohol, and toxins from the liver and help keep it functioning at a high level.
  • Aloe Vera Juice - I recommend carrying around a big jug with you everywhere you go, as it flushes out your system.
  • Fruits and Veggies of pretty much all types.  You'll need this for raw salads and for your morning smoothie or juice to get your detox started today.
  • Canned Vegetables - Okay, this isn't normally recommended but I like to eat raw veggies from the can.  The ones I like to eat raw are artichoke hearts, chickpeas, and okra.  If you do use veggies from a can, be sure to wash them really good first, as distilled cans have a lot of sodium.
  • Filtrated Water - I use a water pitcher and I use a fruit infuser for some of my drinks so I'm hydrating and getting some helpful nutrients at the same time.
  • Veggies that can be cut up and chewed on in raw form - I like zucchini cut into little slices, raw carrots, and celery sticks myself.
  • For Fruit, I have whole oranges, apples, bananas, and sliced honeydew and cantaloupe.

Detox Tips

There are a few things I've decided not to give up yet because I'm not ready.  During a detox, you're supposed to go sans caffeine.  I drink green tea in the morning and for the time being, I'm sticking with it.

Before I drink that though, I keep a covered glass of water on the counter overnight and in the morning add a squeeze of lemon.  This helps to rev your engine, so to speak.  Be sure to add this to your detox!

If you are a coffee drinker, it might be too hard to give up your morning coffee, so keep it to a weak one cup minimum so you don't get a headache.

How It Works: One A Day

Day one is all about fueling your body.  You're going to be hungry a lot and you may have some hunger pangs in your sleep.

In order to get the most out of your raw vegan detox cleanse, try creating a balance of smoothie or juices and raw fruits and vegetables that you can eat on the spot to keep your hunger down.

In the meantime, remember that during a body cleanse, it's best to not touch any kind of processed foods.  If you can really think it will help, add a little pink Himalayan salt to your edibles.  It's a detox salt so if you're going to spice anything, use that!

If you have any questions, feel free to use the comment section.  Remember, even though I'm doing this detox in my preparation to go raw, you can use it for any type of body cleanse!
