Watermelon Green Tea Juice Recipe

The watermelon green tea juice recipe is revitalizing!  It gives you a burst of energy, thanks to the caffeinated green tea (though, feel free to use decaf if needed) in it. What's not to love?

This green juice recipe serves two purposes: 1.)  Can be used for an energy boost.  2.)  Makes your hair, skin, and nails pretty!

Not to mention, the fiber in it, will aid in cleansing your digestive tract.  That can never be a bad thing.  Plus bonus, almost all of these healthful ingredients aid in weight loss!

While I do sometimes like to make watermelon smoothies with almond milk, there's nothing more fantastic than an energy juicing boost!  Watermelon and spinach tend to play well together.  I added a half a banana to sweeten the drink just a little.

On it's own, green tea has a slightly bitter flavor, that somehow plays off the fruits and spinach really well.  Of course, spinach will often take on the flavor of anything it's meshed with it, whether it be blended or cooked.

Adding the secret ingredient to the top, chia seeds gives the juice a natural nutty flavor with a bit of a crunch.  I chose chia seeds as my secret ingredient because their flavor reminds me of something woodsy.

Let me give you the skinny on the nutritional facts behind this green juice recipe.  Watermelon, spinach leaves, green tea, banana, and chia seeds all have their own individual impact, yet work together collectively to make you healthy.

 Nutrition Info.

Spinach - This Green part of the juice comes from spinach leaves. I usually grab one heaping handful of leaves to put in my nutri-bullet. If you're vegan, like I am, then spinach will give you a healthy dose of protein, niacin, thiamin, zinc, lots of fiber, which is good for digestion. If you're not sold yet, it also has vitamins A, C, E, and K. Of course, that's not all. With spinach, there's always more, and that's what I love about it!

Chia Seeds - Chia seeds are the secret ingredient, and it's kind of magical, how these teeny tiny little seeds pack such a powerful quotient of nutrients.  The biggest thing I can say about chia seeds is that they have Omega 3 fatty acids. You've heard of those before, haven't you? They lower your triglyceride levels, which lowers your risk for heart disease. Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women worldwide, so that's a pretty big deal!

Bananas - Bananas are known for monkeys, and well, potassium. They are also a great source of fiber and carbohydrates. You know, the complex, healthy kind. Plus, they taste good! Grape Nuts - Known for being a powerhouse for both fiber and protein. This is especially important for aiding with digestion and plant-based diets.

Watermelon - is a water-based fruit, so it first aides in hydration, which is the key to life.  Our bodies must have water to survive. It's also chock full of vitamin C, vitamin A, carotenoids, and B vitamins.  The vitamin C will give you a revitalizing energy boost, while carotenoid lycopene prevents cancer and keeps your heart healthy.

Green Tea - is known for it's weight loss benefits.  It also has 70% less caffeine than one cup of coffee, so if that's a factor, green tea to the rescue!

Watermelon Green Tea Juice Recipe

This is an end of the summer recipe, which will leave you energized and revitalized. It tastes sweet, like summer!

  • 1 handful or bunch Spinach
  • 10 chunks or so Watermelon
  • One Cup Green Tea
  • 1/2 banana (medium) Banana
  • 2 Tablespoons Chia Seeds

First, add a layer of green spinach leaves to juice cup or juice feeder.

Next, add watermelon chunks. At this point, I'm assuming fruit has been cut into chunks.

Prepare green tea on the stove or in a tea maker. Then be sure to cool it down or add ice cubes.  Pour into juicer cup.

Add a half of a banana, just for a little sweetness and protein.

Last, sprinkle chia seeds on the top. Blend well, drink up and enjoy!
